A long time ago, there was a huge apple tree.
A little boy loved to come and play around it everyday.
He climbed to the treetop, ate the apples, took a nap under the shadow...
He loved the tree and the tree loved to play with him.
Time went by...the little boy had grown up,
And he no longer played around the tree every day.
One day, the boy came back to the tree and he looked sad.
'Come and play with me,' the tree asked the boy.
'I am no longer a kid, I do not play around trees any more'
The boy replied.
'I want toys. I need money to buy them.'
'Sorry, but I do not have money...
But you can pick all my apples and sell them.
So, you will have money.
' The boy was so excited.
He grabbed all the apples on the tree and left happily.
The boy never came back after he picked the apples.
The tree was sad.
One day, the boy who now turned into a man returned
And the tree was excited 'Come and play with me' the tree said.
'I do not have time to play. I have to work for my family.
We need a house for shelter.
Can you help me?
' Sorry',
I do not have any house. But you can chop off my branches
To build your house.
' So the man cut all the branches of the tree and left happily.
The tree was glad to see him happy but the man never came back since then.
The tree was again lonely and sad.
One hot summer day,
The man returned and the tree was delighted.
'Come and play with me!' the tree said.
'I am getting old. I want to go sailing to relax myself.
'Can you give me a boat?'
'Said the man'.
'Use my trunk to build your boat.
You can sail far away and be happy.
' So the man cut the tree trunk to make a boat.
He went sailing and never showed up for a long time.
Finally, the man returned after many years.
'Sorry, my boy. But I do not have anything for you anymore.
No more apples for you...
' The tree said'.
'No problem, I do not have any teeth to bite
' The man replied.
'No more trunk for you to climb on'
'I am too old for that now' the man said.
'I really cannot give you anything...anymore
The only thing left is my dying root,'
The tree said with tears.
'I do not need much now, just a place to rest.
I am tired after all these years' the man replied.
'Good! Old tree roots are the best place to lean on and rest,
Come, come sit down with me and rest.
' The man sat down and the tree was glad and smiled with tears...
This is you,and do you know who is the tree? It is your parents. !!!!! Please enlighten all your friends and your families
By telling them this story,
'Love your Parents before it is too late'

Life, poetry and a few other things!
It was sheer torture to wake up at 5 in the morning, considering I had been waking up at noon or later all through the vacations!! But it was nice too, getting back to work, meeting up with colleagues and of course, how can you forget, hiding from the head, so she doesn’t catch you to do something you dislike! The funniest thing was, how this colleague of mine kept talking to me, and all through the conversation I kept thinking, what is her name? I still don’t remember really!
There was this picture of a horse, put up outside a shop, which brought back the words from my most favorite poem by Robert Frost.
Whose woods these are I think I know,
His house is in the village though.
He will not see me stopping here,
To watch his woods fill up with snow.
My little horse must think it queer,
To stop without a farmhouse near,
Between the woods and frozen lake,
The darkest evening of the year.
He gives his harness bells a shake,
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep,
Of easy wind and downy flake.
The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.
The last stanza of this poem is so beautiful and mesmerizing. I can travel into the poem and picture the woods, the horse’s footprints and the snow. There’s something about poetry that can be so soothing.
On a completely different tangent, life can be quite ironic, imagine you work like a dog to get to your dream, do whatever is in your hands, and get so close but due to a certain factor don’t quite get there. Painful, right? Now, imagine you start getting over it and another person with the same circumstances, who doesn’t even really care, comes along and just casually asks for the same dream, not even appreciating it and due to this same certain factor gets it with ease!!! Probably feels worse than acupuncture!
Since we’re rocketing between ideas today, watching movies based in the UK, women with their flowing dresses, ballroom dances, men with tailcoats and a top hat, always makes me want to live like that, just for a day. Even King Arthur’s stories, I want to go and be a part of it. Is there a certain era or time which you’d like to live in?

Some things that make you go hmm
How is it that every time any character on TV wants to commit suicide they have sleeping tablets lying in their bedside drawer, young or old doesn’t matter-they all have sleeping trouble?? ![]()
And why do they wear makeup even while sleeping-isn’t that bad for your skin?? ![]()
Why are all the foul words female oriented, b****h, a** , m******f*****, s**ofab**** - just makes you wonder!!
Why are chocolates, hearts and flowers a symbol of love- who invented this heart symbol anyways??

Future
I’ve been thinking about the future.
Thinking of what lies in store for me.
But,
I don’t see anything.
Every time I try to close my eyes and imagine the future,
I see nothing,
Nothing at all.

OUCH!
She said that at first you think that it is alright, nothing's wrong, then you start believing that it will be ok, and then you believe that it’s getting better whereas it really is not! OUCH!!
She said another thing too, she said that if you try to get happiness by stealing someone else's happiness, there's no way you can get it and that’s true too!!

Memories
Sometimes the strangest things can trigger off memories, memories that make you miss someone so much. Like I just saw a photograph today, a profile picture of one of my friends and I felt this unbelievable pull, I wanted to be there with my friend. And fragrances, certain fragrances just remind you of certain people. You’ll be walking down the aisle looking for some popcorn seeds and someone passes you with a certain fragrance and you just go back in time, memories just come flooding back. Flowers, sunflowers always remind me of my friend R, no matter where I see it the first thought that comes to mind is her.
Its actually quite unbelievable, how you build up these memories during a relationship, you don’t even realize it. But when they’re away every little thing reminds you of them. Sometimes it’s something as crazy as some outfit of yours, or your favorite ring.
Without knowing it you make a little movie of memories, on film that is incorruptible, your heart and mind.

KFC, food poisoning and Rumi!
Life’s definitely not dull at the moment, who would think that I would enter KFC to have an innocent sandwich, as I have done many times before and leave with a severe case of food poisoning! So, the result of that indulgence was a three day stay at the hospital.
But who’s complaining, they say every cloud has a silver lining, and well I got out of putting up with my cousin, and believe me I’d any day choose food poisoning over him. Not to mention, I could sleep without my pillow falling off every minute! I spent the time catching up on my reading and even finally watched Titanic, 11 years too late, but it’s still a nice movie, sad though!
I had quite a surprise when I came back home and heard that my cousin from UK, who is a lawyer, was here in Dubai for a few days. She decided to pay us a visit, and well the lawyer in her was adamant that I sue KFC!! Now, if I did that life would be quite interesting I’d say!
I read a few poems by Rumi, a Persian poet, and I must say that every time I read his work I’m a fan all over again! His poetry is just so beautiful, especially if you read it in the original Persian that it was written. If I’m saying that, not really knowing Persian very well, then imagine the beauty for those who actually understand the language.
Everything you see has its roots in the unseen world.
The forms may change, yet the essence remains the same.
Every wonderful sight will vanish,
every sweet word will fade,
But do not be disheartened,
The source they come from is eternal,
growing,
Branching out,
giving new life and new joy.
Why do you weep?
The source is within you
And this whole world is springing up from it.
That is so inspiring, so picturesque and yet melancholy. I don’t have words to describe its beauty really.
Sometimes I wonder, sweetest love, if you
Were a mere dream in a long winter night,
A dream of spring-days, and of golden light
Which sheds its rays upon a frozen heart;
A dream of wine that fills the drunken eye.
And so I wonder, sweetest love, if I
Should drink this ruby wine, or rather weep;
Each tear a bezel with your face engraved,
A rosary to memorize your name...
There are so many ways to call you back--
Yes, even if you only were a dream.
