I believe if you could take out my heart, you'd find it to be very disfigured. Burns. Scratches. Cuts. Bruises. Scars of all shapes and sizes.
I imagine it to be like a map. With its stories of despair, stories of love, pain, poverty. Disputed boundaries.
If you look closer, there will be orchards and vineyards. Mountains and valleys and rivers of beauty. Poetic ruins and skyscrapers. You'll find oceans of love and icy despair. You'll find fiery volcanoes and ice-capped mountains. You'll find sunshine. You'll find rain.
You'll even find Keats and Rumi. You'll find incomplete poems and half-told stories. Tokens of love and old relics. And songs.
And in every corner, you'll find a story, and in these stories you'll find pieces of me.
